In the third quarter of 2021, the top 5 cryptocurrency apps on iOS in Guatemala showed varied performance in terms of weekly downloads and active users. Below, we take a closer look at the data provided by Sensor Tower for each of these apps.

Chivo Wallet from Gobierno de El Salvador, which was released on September 7, 2021, saw its highest weekly downloads at 619 in the week of September 6. However, there was a significant decline in downloads over the following weeks, dropping to 107 by the end of September.

Abra: Buy & Trade BTC & Crypto experienced fluctuating weekly downloads throughout the quarter. The app saw a peak of 170 downloads in the week of September 6, followed by a notable drop to 36 downloads in the final week of September. Weekly active users also showed a downward trend, starting at 627 at the end of June and decreasing to 382 by the end of September.

Binance: Buy Bitcoin & Crypto had a relatively stable performance with weekly downloads peaking at 125 in mid-August, before tapering off to 34 by the end of September. The app maintained a steady number of active users, ranging between 836 and 1200 throughout the quarter.

MetaMask - Blockchain Wallet saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting from 16 at the end of June and rising to 68 by the end of September. Similarly, the number of active users increased from 75 to 189 over the same period, indicating a growing user base.

Finally, Uphold: Buy BTC, ETH and 260+ had a steady rise in weekly downloads, reaching a peak of 57 in mid-September. The app also showed growth in active users, starting at 160 at the end of June and climbing to 250 by the end of September.
